We have a new baby! Sam Alexis came into the world on Monday, 29 December and weighed in at 7 pounds 3 ounces! Emily and Jared are the proud parents of 3 little girls! She is so adorable and we love all 8 of our grandchildren to pieces! We are so blessed!

TYSON
FROM THE HOT TUB TO THE SNOW AND BACK
The kids were home for Christmas and we had such a great time! My favorite thing is being with family! It was so good to be together and play games and eat and watch the kids and shop and have so much fun! We went to Pine where there was so much snow. The he-men in the family were going from the hot tub to the snow bank and back and forth. What a hoot! You'd never get me to do that! I could never be in the Polar Bear Club! But they were pretty fun and funny to watch! Between shoveling the snow off the roof and sledding down the hill, everyone got their fill of the cold, white stuff!

I went hiking on Friday with 4 friends. However, I forgot my camera. But this is what it looked like. :) (I had to borrow a pic from Kendall.) We went to 5 Mile Gulch Trail in the foothills behind Table Rock. It was a beautiful day and a lot of fun! It was probably only 3 miles. The sage was all in seed and smelled so good!

We had such a good time with the family at area 51. I love it so much when we can be together and spend time with each other. The little children are so much fun! What did we do for entertainment before we had them? I really enjoy spending time with their parents, too - chatting and having a wonderful time together. Thanks to you all - you enrich our lives - just by being you.

On the 6th of September, Rich, Rusty, Jennifer and Max Bennett and I hiked Table Rock Mountain by the Tetons. It was a gorgeous day and hike. It was a pretty good little hike for Rich and I. We climbed 4100 feet in 6 1/2 miles. We were up above 11,000 feet. It was snowy, windy and so cold at the summit. We were right next to the Grand Teton. We saw 3 moose and a little village of marmots. Jennifer and Max were such good sports to take us along and it was fun to have Rusty with us. It was a great day!

We had a wonderful time in Alaska. It was pretty crazy that it was still light at midnight and starting getting light again about 4:00 a.m. It rained the first week we were there. Therefore, my hair was curly for 2 weeks! Most of the pictures we took was out the motor home window - so they aren't that great. It was good to see Kim and Dave Norton and 3 of their children. The temple was certainly a highlight. We are still trying to get caught up on sleep.

When you thought I wasn't looking -
You hung my first painting on the refrigerator,
and I wanted to paint another.
When you thought I wasn't looking -
You fed a stray cat and I thought it was good to be kind to animals.
When you thought I wasn't looking -
You baked a birthday cake just for me and I knew that little things were special.
When you thought I wasn't looking -
You said a prayer and I believed that there was a God I could always talk to.
When you thought I wasn't looking -
You kissed me goodnight and I felt loved.
When you thought I wasn't looking -
I saw tears come from your eyes and I learned that sometimes things hurt, but that it's alright to cry.
When you thought I wasn't looking -
You smiled and it made me want to look that pretty, too.
When you thought I wasn't looking -
You cared and I wanted to be everything I could be.
When you thought I wasn't looking -
I looked and wanted to say thanks for all those things you did when you thought I wasn't looking.

Cassie came home the night of Austin's 2nd birthday.
The kids are so fun! We always have a good time with them!
They are so funny.
We packed everything we could into the weekend! Dad went to Twin Falls for a picnic with his brothers and sisters. Spencer and Sara and their children went along. They had a great time! I went with Cassie to help her take pictures at Alison Patrick's wedding in their back yard. It was sure fun to have her home. She went motorcycling with her dad.
We were in Idaho Falls for Father's Day. We had the Zweifel Family picnic at Tautphus Park. I really appreciate Richard for the wonderful father and "papa" he is to our 6 grandchildren.
I stayed a few extra days to help Grandma Zweifel move into her new "digs" (as Jaime calls it.) I just have to say how much I appreciate my 3 brothers and 2 sisters. I am so grateful for how good we get along with each other. I love spending time with all of them! And I love their spouses!
It feels like the end of an era to have mom move. I am still trying to adjust - as I'm sure mom is, too. I try to encourage her as well as myself. I know it is the best thing for her and I hope she will fell like she fits in and will play nice with the other kids! I am very grateful for my mother and the example she is to me and the things she taught me!

Spencer was a HUGE help!! He had to dig a 5 1/2 ' hole to find the water main. He said he will surely get a bigger chunk of the inheritance. However, Kendall said that 10 times nothing is still nothing. We shouldn't have told you all what we were doing and invited everyone to come up for the long Memorial Day Weekend and said we had a big surprise for you! Then after the sprinklers were done and the work was complete, we could have had a great old barbeque. But we'll have a great picinc in July!! Thanks for all your love and support. (from a distance)
